The King's Footwear

A Maharaja will travel around the country to see the state of his people. He decided to just walk. Just a few meters walking outside the palace his leg was injured by falling on a rock. He thought, “It turns out that the roads in my country are really bad. I have to fix it.”
Maharaja then summoned all the palace ministers. He ordered that all the streets of his country be covered with the finest cowhide. Immediately the palace ministers made preparations. They gathered cows from all over the land. In the midst of this extraordinary activity, a hermit came to the Maharaja. He said to the Maharaja, "O sire, why do you want to make so many cowhide skins to coat the roads in this country, when in fact what you need are only two pieces of cowhide to cover the soles of your feet." It is said that since then the world invented the leather lining the soles of the feet which we call "Sandals". There is a valuable lesson from this story. To make the world a comfortable place to live, sometimes, we have to change our perspective, our hearts, and ourselves, not by changing the world or even regretting the fate that has happened in their lives. Because we often misinterpret the world. The world, in our minds, is sometimes just a personal form. The world, we interpret as our own, the players are ourselves. No one else is involved there, because, often in our view, the world is a reflection of ourselves. Yes, indeed, the road of life that we take is still steep and rocky. Which do we choose, covering each of these paths with a rug so that we may never feel pain, or, covering our hearts with leather, so that we can endure through the roads?
